[Katsuya] Take-out sauce katsudon with a perfect balance of all elements

Foods

As a result of developing the syndrome of wanting to eat pork cutlet late at night, I decided to try ordering takeout from Katsuya, which accepts last orders until 24:00.

This time I ordered the classic sauce cutlet bowl. Select medium-sized bamboo.

759 yen including tax. Prices have been so high lately, but it’s great to be able to eat freshly fried pork cutlet for as little as 616 yen (tax included).

Just to eat oily food late at night, I drive for about 20 to 25 minutes one way on mountain roads where deer are prioritized. This is car life.

The thick meat has plenty of fat and tastes sweet even though it doesn’t contain any sugar.

The batter is crispy, and the oil oozes out when you bite into it.

The sauce is seasoned with a good amount of salt and plum, and goes perfectly with the rice.

Next time I go, I want to buy the sauce alone and make my own katsudon using the frozen cutlet and rice.

I chose bamboo, but I thought it was a little too much for a small eater like me.

It took me quite a while to get from the store to my house, so I ended up losing track of the last 3 or 4 photos, which was a shame. It’s better to eat freshly fried food at a restaurant.
